Cookie Policy (EU)

Last updated: July 2026 – This cookie policy was rewritten as part of the website relaunch and replaces the previously auto-generated version. Most recently updated when Google Tag Manager was added.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include your browser's local storage. They are used to make websites work, to remember settings, or – with your consent – to enable usage statistics and marketing.

Which cookies does this website use?

1. Strictly necessary storage (always active)

This website stores your cookie preferences in your browser's local storage (key sibg-consent) so that your choice is respected on future visits. This storage is required to operate the consent management and contains no personal profiling data.

2. Statistics (only with consent)

Statistics services help us understand how visitors use the website. We use Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., USA). The service works without cookies and without cross-device recognition; it records aggregated information such as the page visited, the referrer, an approximate country-level location, device type and browser. It is only loaded after you have consented to the "Statistics" category, and it is removed again immediately if you withdraw that consent.

3. Marketing (only with consent)

Marketing tags that set cookies or transmit data to third parties can be added through Google Tag Manager (see section 4). Such tags are only executed if you have consented to the "Marketing" category.

4. Google Tag Manager and Google Consent Mode

We use Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) as a technical tool for managing website tags. Tag Manager itself sets no cookies and stores no personal data in your browser; it only decides which other services are loaded. When you open a page, the container is loaded from a Google server, which transmits your IP address to Google. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the consistent technical administration of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The container is configured with Google Consent Mode v2. Before Tag Manager is loaded, all optional consent signals (analytics, advertising, personalisation) are set to denied. They are only released once you consent in the cookie banner: consenting to "Statistics" releases the analytics signal, consenting to "Marketing" releases the advertising and personalisation signals. If you withdraw your consent, the signals are set back to "denied" without a page reload. Without your consent, Tag Manager therefore neither sets cookies nor collects analytics or advertising data.

Embedded third-party services

To book a free initial consultation we embed the widget of Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA). It is only loaded once you actually reach the booking step and is necessary to provide the service you requested. Calendly sets its own cookies; Calendly's privacy policy applies in addition.

In some articles we offer a newsletter sign-up via Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH). Your e-mail address and the related form data are only transmitted to Brevo when you actively submit the form. Links to external platforms (e.g. Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook) lead to third-party services; when you click them, the cookie and privacy policies of the respective provider apply.

Managing your consent

When you first visit this website, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional categories. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

You can also delete or block cookies via your browser settings. Please refer to your browser's help pages for instructions.
