What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include your browser's local storage. They are used to make websites work, to remember settings, or – with your consent – to measure how the site is used.
Which cookies does this website use?
1. Strictly necessary storage (always active)
This website stores your cookie preferences in your browser's local storage (key sibg-consent) so that your choice is respected on future visits. This storage is required to operate the consent management and contains no personal profiling data.
2. Statistics (only with consent)
Statistics services help us understand how visitors use the website. We use two services, both of which are only loaded after you have consented to the "Statistics" category, and are removed again immediately if you withdraw that consent:
- Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., USA) works without cookies and without cross-device recognition; it records aggregated information such as the page visited, the referrer, an approximate country-level location, device type and browser.
- PostHog (PostHog Inc.; processed via the "PostHog Cloud EU" instance within the European Union) analyses click paths, time on page and funnels, and records individual sessions as screen recordings (session recording). To do so, PostHog sets a cookie (name starting with
ph_) to recognise your browser and processes your IP address to derive an approximate location. Form entries are masked by default in session recordings; capture by PostHog is fully disabled on the document generator page.
3. Marketing
None. We run no advertising, no marketing tags and no retargeting, and the cookie banner therefore offers no "Marketing" category — a category that switched nothing would ask you to make a choice with no effect. Google Tag Manager was removed in August 2026 along with the Google Consent Mode configuration that went with it; no Google script is loaded on this website.
4. Embedded third-party services
In some articles we offer a newsletter sign-up via Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH). Your e-mail address and the related form data are only transmitted to Brevo when you actively submit the form. Links to external platforms (e.g. Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook) lead to third-party services; when you click them, the cookie and privacy policies of the respective provider apply.
Managing your consent
When you first visit this website, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional categories. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
You can also delete or block cookies via your browser settings. Please refer to your browser's help pages for instructions.
