3. Hosting Provider

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). Vercel processes personal data on our behalf in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Where data is transferred to the USA, this takes place on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

When you visit our website, the following data is automatically collected by our web server:

  • IP address of the visitor
  • Date and time of access
  • Visited pages/files
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system

Processing is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR to ensure the functionality and security of the website.

5. Contact Form

If you contact us via our contact form, we process the data you enter solely for processing your request. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

6. Newsletter

The newsletter is sent via Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin). Processing of your email address is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

7. Cookies & Cookie Banner

We use cookies and similar technologies to provide essential features and – subject to your consent – to analyse how the website is used. You make your choice via this website's cookie banner; it is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sibg-consent and can be changed or withdrawn at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Details of the services used can be found in our Cookie Policy.

8. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as a technical tool for managing website tags. Tag Manager itself sets no cookies and collects no personal data; it only controls which other services are executed on the website. When the container is loaded, your IP address is transmitted to a Google server; a transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out and takes place on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis for using Tag Manager is our legitimate interest in the consistent technical administration of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The container is configured with Google Consent Mode v2: all optional consent signals for analytics, advertising and personalisation are initially set to "denied". They are only released once you consent in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); withdrawing your consent sets them back immediately. Without your consent, no analytics or advertising data is collected through Tag Manager.

9. Web Analytics

For audience measurement we use Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., USA). The service works without cookies and without cross-device recognition, and collects aggregated information such as the page visited, the referrer, an approximate country-level location, device type and browser. No personal profile is created. The service is only loaded after you have consented to the "Statistics" category (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and is removed again immediately if you withdraw that consent.

10. Payment Providers

On the document generator page we offer the option of a voluntary contribution via PayPal. Data is only processed once you actively follow the corresponding link, and is then governed by PayPal's privacy policy.

11. Integration of Third-Party Services

To book a free initial consultation we embed the widget of Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA). It is only loaded once you reach the booking step; processing serves to arrange the appointment you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Some articles also contain sign-up forms for our newsletter (see section 6). Links to external platforms such as Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook or LinkedIn are plain links; the respective provider's terms only apply once you click them.

12. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, data portability, object, and revoke consents given. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website.

14. Company Formation Document Generator

Our website offers a free generator for Bulgarian company-formation documents. You enter personal data (including name, birth details, passport or ID card data, address, and details of the planned company) that is required to prepare the documents.

Processing exclusively in your browser: Everything you enter is processed locally in your browser only. No data is transmitted to our servers or to third parties; we never have access to your entries. The documents are generated directly in your browser and provided as downloads.

Storage: Your entries are temporarily kept in your browser's sessionStorage so they survive a page reload. This storage is automatically deleted when you close the browser tab. No permanent storage takes place – including of passport or ID numbers – and this data is not logged or passed to any analytics service. A deletion request is not necessary because we hold no data; you can remove the local data yourself at any time via the “Clear all entries” function or by closing the tab.

Purpose and legal basis: The local processing serves solely to prepare the documents you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your data is not used for marketing purposes.

15. Service Provider Questionnaire and Directory

Our website offers a questionnaire through which service providers in Bulgaria can introduce their company to be included in our directory. We process the business details you enter: company name, website, contact person, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, service area, the services and languages you offer, your service description, an optional link to your logo, and any free-text notes.

Purpose and legal basis: Handling and assessing your submission is carried out as a pre-contractual measure on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Publishing your details on StartinBG.com is based solely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give in the final field of the questionnaire. The two are separate: a submission that does not lead to a listing is processed but never published. Inclusion in the directory is an editorial decision and there is no entitlement to it.

Scope of publication: We publish only the contact details you explicitly release for publication in the questionnaire, together with your service description and the services and languages you stated. All other details remain internal and are used solely to contact you and to assess the submission.

Withdrawal and retention: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, and we will then remove the listing from the website. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal is unaffected. Submissions that do not lead to a listing are deleted once the assessment is complete. A message to datenschutz@startinbg.com is enough to withdraw consent or to request information or deletion.
