Remote Company Formation in Bulgaria
Starting a business in another country doesn't have to be complicated. We help entrepreneurs establish Bulgarian companies with practical guidance, transparent communication and support throughout the process — keeping travel requirements to the minimum legally possible.
Can you really start a Bulgarian company remotely?
In short: a lot can be handled remotely — but not automatically every single step. What's possible in your case depends on your nationality, your banking arrangements and the current regulations. Here's an honest breakdown.
What is usually possible remotely
Agreeing the company name and business purpose, preparing the formation documents, communicating with the authorities and most of the coordination can be handled digitally.
What still requires legal formalities
Certain signatures, certifications and — depending on the bank — account opening may require presence, an apostille or a notarised power of attorney. We tell you upfront and transparently what to expect.
Where a power of attorney is used
With a notarised power of attorney, an authorised representative can complete many steps on your behalf. Whether and how far that works in your case is something we clarify individually.
We won't promise that every step is always 100% remote — requirements vary by situation. In a free consultation we'll tell you exactly what is possible in your case.

Frequently asked questions about remote formation
Answers to the questions we hear most often. For your specific case, we're happy to advise you individually.
Can I form an EOOD without living in Bulgaria?
In general, non-residents can form an EOOD (single-owner limited company). Residency in Bulgaria is not a requirement. Which proofs and formalities apply in your case depends on your nationality and situation — we clarify this in the consultation.
Do I need to travel?
In many cases the travel requirement can be reduced significantly, sometimes to a single appointment or a power-of-attorney solution. Some banks or formalities may still require personal presence. We'll tell you upfront what's realistic in your case.
How long does it usually take?
From experience, a Bulgarian company is often registered in around 2–3 weeks once all documents are complete. The exact timeline depends on documentation, banking and the authorities' processing times.
Can someone act on my behalf?
Yes — with a notarised power of attorney, an authorised representative can handle many steps for you. The scope depends on the legal requirements and the specific procedure.
Can Start in BG coordinate accounting?
Yes. Through our local network we set up ongoing accounting and support you long-term — not only during formation.
Can you help with VAT?
Whether a VAT registration is advisable or mandatory depends on your business model (e.g. Amazon sales). We assess your situation and support the registration where it's needed. For a binding tax assessment we involve professional advisors.
Can I use an international bank?
Depending on your plans, a Bulgarian bank, an EU business bank or a fintech solution may be an option. We discuss the choices and their requirements — including what works remotely — with you individually.
